I was contracted by MediaTrope to design and program a dramatic XML and ActionScript based signage module. This module was integrated with Mediatrope's Sitebots Content Manager that was already in use as the museum's website content management.
At the time, displays like this were seen in only a handful of museums, and were generally experimental. They were, however, seen in ever-increasing numbers in trade-shows and retail stores, like in Macy’s and the Apple Store.
This module's programming was set up so non-technical staff could create new animations with simple content messaging and update the signage on a moment’s notice using Sitebots adminstration controls. Transition elements were designed to mimic the unique half-tone like architectural details of the de Young's building facade.
